Fav song of the moment: Something Beautiful by Needtobreathe.
"Hey now, this is my desire: Consume me like a fire, 'cause I just want something beautiful to touch me- I know that I'm in reach, 'cause I'm down on my knees, waiting for something beautiful."
Being up at school for just about a month now, I'm come to realize that decisions are pretty much everything you do. It's not that I didn't know that decision are important in your life, but it's become very clear to me over the past few weeks. The classes you take, if you're gonna do your homework now or later, who you're going to hang out with, what you wanna eat and where, how you act and much more are just some of the few things that you have to decide every day. It's hard. Who knew that going off to school would mean that you make EVERY decision for yourself. Oh wait....I did. I just didn't except it to be like this.
Growing up is harder then I thought it would be. You aren't in high school anymore where your teachers give you pretty much every answer and make sure you're caught up on homework. YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. Your decision start to effect your classwork and how your day goes.
The biggest decision I'm having to make at the moment is whether or not I'll be going on a mission trip to Guatemala over spring break with the youth group I joined up here in Pullman. It's such a awesome opportunity and would be an experience of a life time. Traveling half way across the world to teach kids about God's love and helping out a community in need. Something Beautiful. The only thing that keeps coming into my head when I think about this mission trip is Lodge Grass. Not being able to go this next summer breaks my heart every time I think about it. But I think that this mission trip would be a good exchange for not getting to go to Lodge Grass. Some more prayer should show me the right choice. Either way, it's something beautiful that's worth waiting for.
Guatemala is absolutely amazing! And such a different experience than Lodge Grass. Hard to explain...I tried once to Ben. You would be the only other person that could relate!! haha. You should go. Changed my life :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to this journey we call life....where every moment seems like a decision point; serve God or serve self. Keep this in mind when you are praying....But remember what I told you when you left for school, you aren't really on your own, Mom and I are always there for you as is your heavenly Father.
